Guiyang,
Guizhou PSM Training Group 2008

The
China Training Centre recently hosted a group of 12
Government managers from Guiyang City, Guizhou, China
from April 14 to April 26 for a public sector management
training program. The group undertook 2 weeks
of seminars on Australia's best practises of Public
Sector Management delivered by the Flinders University
Institute for Public Policy & Management together
with professionals from both public and private sectors.
Industry visits included a tour of Parliament House,
a weekend at Kangaroo Island and a fantastic day organised
by the City of Victor Harbor which included visits to
the Council Chambers, Granite Island, the Softfoot Alpaca
Stud and lunch with the mayor.
Liaoning
VET Management & Operations Training Group 2008

In partnership
with TAFESA, the CTC welcomed a training delegation
of 16 VET professionals (the majority being college
deans) to South Australia for a 2 week training program
between March 16 to 31. Together with numerous specialist
seminars delivered at TAFESA City Campus, the program
also incorporated visits and seminars at Tea Tree Gully,
Marleston, Regency and Barossa Valley TAFE campuses.
Some highlights of the program included a visit to Heathfield
High School where some of the local students undertaking
a vocational course in hospitality prepared and served
lunch for the group and attending the Australia's Adelaide
United versus China's Changchun Yatai in the Asian Club
Football Championship.
Shandong Executive Public
Sector Management Training Group 2007

After
5 weeks of TAFE ESL lessons, 3 months of seminars, workshops,
tutorials from the 3 major universities, 4 weeks of
work placement in government departments and agencies
as well as attending numerous industry visits and corporate
and community events, the Shandong Executive Training
group of 2007 finally returned to China on November
30. The feedback from the group members has been very
complimentary in particular expressing their gratefulness
for the opportunities the work placement component of
the program afforded them. The group leader Mr Wang
has stated that the group will be recommending South
Australia as a destination for the 2008 training group.
The

Shanghai
Jiaoyun Logistics Training 2007

Arriving in
South Australia on November 12 and leaving from Singapore
on December 2, the China Training Centre arranged a
nationwide program for 20 Logistics managers from the
Shanghai Jiaoyun group of companies. This is the 5th
such group sent to SA from Jiaoyun. The group visited
DTED, DTEI's Traffic Control Centre, Flinders Ports,
Fremantle Port, Hardy Wine Storage, SA Freight Council,
Port of Melbourne, WA Sea Freight Council and were fortunate
to hear a presentation delivered by the National Managing
Director of the Transport and Logistics Centre (TALC)
before heading to Singapore for a 3 day training program.
Both the China Training Centre and Shanghai Jiaoyun
Group of Companies are pleased to continue on with our
spirit of friendly cooperation.
Shenzhen
Principals Training Program 2007

Following
on from the success of the 2006 group, the China Training
Centre hosted a group of 28 Primary and Middle School
Principals from Shenzhen, China for two weeks in October
2007. The group enjoyed the warm hospitality from UNISA's
School of Education at Magill (see photo above) and
the following South Australian schools: Aberfoyle Park
High, Belair Primary, Blackwood High, Bridgewater Primary,
Brighton Primary, Keithcot Farm Primary, Linden Park
Primary, Mawson Lakes Primary and Sturt St Community
School. The group were also priveleged to recieve presentations
from a number of well respected South Australian education
experts from DECS, SAPPA and SACLE.
Shanghai
Putuo Public Sector Management Training Group 2007

The
China Training Centre recently hosted a group of 9 Government
managers from Putuo County, Shanghai China from July
24 to August 18 for a 3 week public sector management
training program. The program incorporated seminars
at Adelaide University's Institute for International
Trade; Australian Institute for Social Research; International
Centre for Financial Services; the University of SA's
School of Natural and Built Environments; and Flinders
University's Institute for Public Policy. In addition,
DPC, DTED, Parliament House and Marion City Council
all hosted the Putuo group for industry visits.
Shandong
Executive Public Sector Management Training Group 2007
The China Training
Centre is currently hosting a group of 16 Executives
from South Australia's sister-state Shandong for a 6
month Public Sector Management Training Program. As
shown by the photo below, the Minister for Employment,
Training and Further Education, Mr Paul Caica met with
the group on June 25 to welcome them to South Australia.

Shanghai
Luwan PSM Training Group

Professor
Patrick James, Head of the University of South Australia's
School
of
Natural & Built Environments together with members
of the China Training Centre's 2006 Shanghai Luwan Executive
Public Service Managment Training Group.
The
Luwan group had a number of lectures at the School for
Natural & Built Environs
and
so on Professor James' latest trip to Shanghai, all
members of the group caught up with him and shared a
meal.
Shanghai
Jiaoyun Logistics Inspection Delegation 2007

The China
Training Centre has a partnership
with the Shanghai Jiaoyun Group of Companies that saw
their fourth visit to South Australia on May 15, 2007.
The group of 6 came to prepare for the annual professional
training group that will come later this year.
During
this short-term visit, the group managed to fit in an
industry visit to Australian Air Express' Airport Cold
Store, as well as cultural tours to Kangaroo Island
and the Barossa Valley.
Guizhou
Small-Medium Business Training Group 2007
The
China Training Centre recently hosted a group of 15
Small-Medium Business Government officials from Guizhou
Province China from March 22 to April 11. The program
was delivered with the help of TAFE SA's Small Business
Training Centre and consisted of a number of industry
visits and seminars to the following organisations:
DTED, AUSTRADE, SA Employers' Chamber of Commerce &
Industry (Business SA), Salisbury Business & Export
Centre, Beerenberg Farm, Animal Performance Enhancing
Product Pty Ltd, Exporter's Club and the Electronics
Industry Association (EIA). The group enjoyed their
time in Adelaide and found the program to be educational
and relevant to their Chinese situation. This was the
2nd time CTC hosted the Guizhou SMB Training Program.

Shandong
Department of Education Delegation 2007
Mr Zhang Zhiyong,
Vice Minister of the Shandong Education Department led
an inspection group to Adelaide in March 2007. The group
visited 6 primary and secondary schools and met with
the Minister for Education Jane Lomax-Smith to discuss
ways to further strengthen the sister state/province
relationship that Shandong shares with South Australia
in the field of education. Since returning to Shandong,
a number of proposals have been made for future Shandong-SA
education partnerships such as school-to-school links
and teacher training.
